Cumberland Farms 10/9

From Linda Ferraresso:

The BBC trip to Cumberland Farms today saw many of the same birds previously reported by the Cape Cod Club, with a few additions:

SANDHILL CRANE  (heard first around 8 a.m., then seen flying in from the south west; circled the area vocalizing most of the time, finally flew off to the North).
Sharp-shinned Hawk  1
Red-tailed Hawk   2
Least Sandpiper   1
Northern Flicker    1
Carolina Wren   1
Yellow-rumped Warbler   3
Blackpoll Warbler   1
Lincoln Sparrow    6
Dark-eyed Junco    1
Indigo Bunting    2
Red-winged Blackbird   1
Common Grackle   10
White-winged Widowbird (seen in the bushes on the left side of the road just before the manure pits)

Praying Mantis   2 (near the model plane field)

It was a lovely day, albeit a bit odd to view the Sparrow show at nearly 80 degrees!

Cheers!
