Crooked Pond and Plum Island 4/30

Dear Friends,
The Brookline Bird Club had a fine day.   When we walked into Crooked Pond, Boxford at 7 AM the Louisiana Waterthrush was not singing.   Barbara and Emmalee held at the first stream crossing while the rest of us worked our way to the Bend.    Barbara located the Louisiana and she and Emmalee also had a Blackburnian Warbler.    The rest of us came back and saw and heard the Louisiana Waterthrush well at the first stream crossing.    It is a long-standing tradition at Crooked Pond not to tape for the Louisiana Waterthrush or even the Winter Wren.  We did not see or hear the Winter Wren.
At Plum Island the birding was slow but it was wonderful to hear the Willets calling and we had fine looks at Pine Warbler and Golden-crowned Kinglet at Hellcat.   A few lucky people had the White-eyed Vireo there but we did not see it.
At Pikes Bridge Road in West Newbury we saw Palm Warblers, Black-and-white Warblers, Myrtles,  and a male Black-throated Blue Warbler (thanks Erik and Seth).   It was a great day to be out birding.

Good birding, everyone!
